Is This Thredbo?

A Level 4 Canadian Instructor asked me this morning "Is this Thredbo?" A good question when conditions were more Northern Hemisphere like than the regular Australian wet patchy snow.

Today was the best day by far this season. The report said fresh 15cm on top. I found stashes over 20cm deep. Shin deep, dry snow with no tracks on it.

From first run down Crackers to True Blue, Golf Course, Funnel Web, Karels, Michael's Mistake, Wiamea, the old High Noon line, Bunny Walk and Powder Bowl there was freshies to be had. The snow did appear to get a little heavier after about 10am but there was a constant stream of new dry wind blown and fresh snow falling.

Tracks were filling in every 30 minutes or so. There were very few people out and although the visibility became poor at times it really didn't matter.

This is only a short report following on the big 4-day report I put up yesterday. Click here to view yesterday's report or click on the "Past Reports" button below.

It is still snowing with more due tonight and tomorrow.
Big smiles all round :-)
