Where Have All The Flowers Gone ...

Lots of freshies on Saturday especially with Kosi chair, Basin & Karels T-bars being closed all day Friday due to the high winds.

The snow got heavier and heavier the lower you dropped. I found I had around 20cms of heavy snow sitting on my boots and skis by the time I reached Milk Run. The other option was to stay high but the problem with the highest runs was the very poor vis. I chose to stay close to the trees and put up with the washing machine that was the bottom of True Blue, Little Beauty and Funnel Web.

Today the misty drizzle below Kosi mid station was more clear than not. Visibility on the T-bars was similar to yesterday but without the wind strength. I certainly made a bad call going back to the darker goggles this morning when I saw a little sun before heading out.

Everyone is commenting on how few people have been around this weekend. For the middle of school holidays and quality of snow it is particularly quiet not that the lack of queues is a bad thing but then again, skiing straight onto lifts doesn't give you much of a rest - says this old man.

Yes, there's still some accommodation left for 2014 but it's going fast - click on above link.

The middle to end of next week is looking particularly good for new snow. Looking at the charts today, all the elements are aligned for a very healthy fall Wednesday through Friday :-)

Hopefully either the natural or man made can top up the very lowest slopes that are still showing signs of wear and tear due to the base depth in the village.

Great to see Rob back orchestrating the ticket checking ;-)
