Happy New Year

2005 ended with a really hot flush. Village temperatures were recorded at 31C on both Friday and Saturday. Upper mountain temperatures were into the high 20s and with hot nor-westerly winds blowing it was not pleasant to be out walking around - of course the rest of the state was sweltering in far worse temperatures.

Evening temps were better and yesterday sanity prevailed as temps returned to the normal range. This morning we have upper mountain temps in the teens and low 20s in the village.

A good crowd were on hand to enjoy the O’Donnell Brothers (with help) entertainment and to welcome in the New Year in the Village Square. I think everyone had a great time although there were reports of some sore heads on Sunday.

I have heard that in the next winter season we will be enjoying the benefits of a fully automated snow making system. This system starts and stops each gun individually depending upon the weather conditions to ensure optimum snowmaking. Looking forward to that.
