The resort can be easily approached by car from the town of FARLIE by turning north towards GERALDINE at the monument in the centre of the town and then following signs along the Clayton road for approximately 22kms to a well sign posted gateway on the left side of this road, or alternatively if approaching from the north through GERALDINE, by turning right at the FARM BARN (Tea rooms at the top of Mt Michael) and following the signs to the road gate as above.
From the road gate the access road travels across an 8km flat to the base of the mountain where it crosses the Opuha River (via a bridge capable of handling loads of up to 3 tonnes). It then winds its way a further 7km up the hill past fox lodge to the large car park on the ski field. The road from the bridge is suitable for all types of light vehicle. During periods of snowfall it is kept clear by the clubs grader. As with all ski field situations chains should always be carried but due to the sunny aspect of the road they are frequently unnecessary. Chain fitting areas are sign posted on the road.
