LOCATION:

Situated in North East Victoria, Falls Creek is in the heart of the Victorian Alps. It is easily accessible by coach, car or plane.
There are regular flights into Albury or Melbourne Airport, with connecting coaches direct to Falls Creek.

BY CAR

There is a good sealed road right up to the resort with ample parking for over 2000 cars. Ensure you bring chains for your tyres and fit them when advised. Also make sure your car has the required amount of Anti-freeze in the radiator for alpine conditions of -10°C.
Alternatively, cars can be left in the security car park at Mt. Beauty (30 kms downhill).

FROM ALBURY

By car Falls Creek is only 1 ½ hours from Albury straight down the Kiewa Valley Highway. The journey is approximately two hours by coach.

FROM MELBOURNE

Falls Creek is approximately four and a half hours from Melbourne. Take the Hume Highway to the Snow Road turn off, and drive through Myrtleford and Mt. Beauty to Falls Creek.

FROM SYDNEY

Falls Creek is 690 kms. from Sydney (eight hours drive), 506 kms. from Canberra (five hours drive), 958 kms from Adelaide (10 hours drive) and 1537 kms from Brisbane (15 hours drive). From Brisbane it is quicker to drive to Falls Creek than to the NSW Ski fields.

BY COACH

BY PLANE

The nearest airport is at Albury. A coach connection will then travel directly to Falls Creek (120 kms). The journey from Albury to Falls Creek by coach is approximately 2 hours.

Pre Journey Check List

1. Ensure that vehicle has been checked over mechanically … breakdowns in the snow can be a greater hassle than they usually are.
2. Make sure that you have a good battery. The cold will affect a faulty battery.
3. Check that you have anti-freeze in your radiator.

CHAINS - Both a practical and a legal requirement. It is only necessary to fit chains when snow is falling faster than it can be cleared away and there are signs placed at intervals along the road into Falls Creek to advise when they are required. Chains are available for hire from a number of locations in Mt Beauty and PLEASE pay attention to the fitting instructions. Fitting chains quickly and efficiently reduces the amount of time you will need to spend standing out in the weather.
