
OVERVIEW:Ben Lomond ski resort is Tasmanias premier ski resort that offers spectacular alpine scenery within the Ben Lomond National Park. The Alpine Village is located at the foot of the ski slopes offering excellent downhill and cross country skiing and snowboarding. There are 3 T-Bars and 3 Poma lifts providing affordable skiing for the beginner to intermediate skier. All levels of professional ski and snowboard instruction are available.
Enjoy family fun in the snow or scenic snowmobile tours of the slopes and local vantage points.
The ski season starts around early July and closes late September.
Ben Lomond is situated 1,573 metres above sea level.
Take an easy half hour walk
to Legges Tor and see the views from Mount Wellington in the South to Flinders
Island in Bass Strait. Or take an overnight camping trip to Lake Youl and Stacks
Bluff. There are other numerous day and half day alpine walks for experienced and casual
walkers.
All grades of rock climbing and abseiling as well as mountain biking along the forestry roads in the foothills, tackle the Jacobs Ladder challenge then along the mountain plateau to the village. If you are looking for something more relaxing why not photograph the unique and diverse range of alpine wildflowers or make friends with the Parks wildlife.
