Mt Baw Baw is the closest ski resort to Melbourne, just two and a
half hours from Melbourne and even closer to Gippsland. In fact, Mt Baw Baw is one hour
less travel time from Melbourne than any other ski resort in Victoria!
Because of the proximity to Melbourne, Mt Baw Baw is ideal for day skiers, boarders and families.
Visitors can travel to Mt Baw Baw via the Princes Highway turning off before Drouin, or alternatively, drive along the Warburton Highway turning off at Yarra Junction and continuing through to Powelltown and joining the main road at Noojee.. The journey either way, is less than 160km from the centre of Melbourne and even less from the southern and eastern suburbs and many parts of Gippsland.
For overnight visitors there is a convenient luggage
unloading area adjacent to the day carpark. After unloading your luggage you then park in
the overnight carparks that are within easy walking distance of all accommodation. No cars
are allowed beyond the village gate, creating an ideal car-free environment. Day visitors
park their cars in the day carpark, from where ski hire, ticket office, lifts,
hotels and cafes, etc, are only a short stroll away.
Car entry fees apply.
